Terms of service

Last updated 17 September 2026

These terms apply between VanillaSEO ("we") and you, the client. Starting a subscription means accepting them. They are short on purpose.

1. What we do

For $500 a month we:

We do not provide paid advertising management, social media posting, or link buying. If you need those, we will point you at someone who does them properly.

2. Price and billing

3. Cancelling

Cancel from your dashboard at any time. It takes effect immediately, unused days in the current month are prorated back to you, and there is no exit interview.

We may end the arrangement too, with 30 days' notice and a refund of anything unused — for instance if we cannot get the access we need to do the work, or if we are asked to do something we think is dishonest.

4. The guarantee

Pay for 3 months. If we cannot show measurable improvement, the 4th month is free.

Measurable improvement means any of:

For the guarantee to apply:

Claiming it takes one email. We will not argue about a baseline we set ourselves, and there is no form to fill in. The guarantee is stated on your invoice as well as here.

5. What we need from you

We will not touch anything outside the scope of the work without asking first.

6. Ownership

7. What we do not promise

Directly, because this is where most agencies get vague:

8. Liability

We work carefully and we test before deploying. If something we changed breaks your site, tell us and we will fix it immediately at no charge — that is the first remedy and usually the only one needed.

Beyond that, our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the three months before it arose. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses such as lost profits. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

9. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms we will email you at least 30 days beforehand. Changes never apply retroactively, and if you do not like one you can cancel under section 3 with nothing owed.

If anything on our website contradicts these terms, whichever is more favourable to you applies. You relied on what the page said; that is our problem to keep consistent, not yours.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and the applicable laws of Canada. Disputes go to the courts of Alberta — though realistically, email hello@vanillaseo.ca first and we will sort it out.
